The ultimate content is not shown. Only one camera-setting, and an overlayed text fill the screen. The text is about a conversation of two men, and coevally that conversation is the audio-track.
The words of the dialog are faded in, but in different tempi. Furthermore, the text in used meta levels as a control device. The text appears in different sizes and also the position varies. The sequence is presented as a loop, and the viewer is reliant of several views to assimilate the complete discussion.  Both participaters of the conversation are obviously beyond the field of vision. In that, there are few members of an indigene community on site,  also discussing, but the content is not hearable.
In the course of the hearable conversation, the comprehension of both participants diverges in substance. Especially at the end, it is evident. This means a certain absurdity  concerning the nature of such an approach: an intervention remains an intervention, no matter which words were used, even if they seem to be expressed in a correct or an honest way.
Basically the sequence was not intended for a work. In an ordinary documentary production, these parts of a video shoot are cutted away, and only the following part is useable. By going back to that video lump, the observe of such an documentary production is shown, even if that also means an uncovered artist. The videowork implies intentional that self-referential character. The artist initiate a deconstruction of his own work  in going back one step. That can also can be seen as an abstraction, or maybe as an decontextualization.
Following strategies from artists like Alexander Kluge`s and his concept of the “minor matter”, in which the displaced moves in the foreground, the work “au fond bien vrai - 1:36” defies narrative conventions.
First and foremost all outfaded subjects, with their imperfectness of the media construction, lead the self-referential and affirmative system of media and his conventions ad absurdum. Thus the self-referential nature of this work also tries to deconstruct the genres of the documentary.
The authenticity is now lying just in front of the adience and beyond all question.

The video installation is dealing with community, the structure of power and behaviour patterns, while three canary birds are living happily together in cage. A misleading idyll. Almost tragically their social network becomes apperent when these little creatures acting – as in a fable – humanlike.

Border crosser | 12:58 min
Luise Marbach

„Border crosser“ tells the story about a young men, who was born in the former Yugoslavia, in Bosnia. With the beginnig of the civil war his family was forced to leave their homeland. Like thousands of other Bosnians they escaped to Western Europe. Like thousands of other young people Raif, the narrator of the film, spended his childhood and adolescence in Germany. Like thousands of other refugees he had to return to Bosnia when the war was over.
In a interview, which was made in Teocak/ Bosnia Raif tells about the repeated tryings of his family to gain ground outside of their homecountry, about the failure of this plans and about his future in a country, where he didn’t grow up. To enter again Germany he is not allowed with a Bosnian passport.
In opposite to this the freedom of travel stands if you own a passport from Western Europe, from Germany. This unequal relationship is showed by a travel, which was made by the artist, Luise Marbach starting from Berlin through Austria, Slowenia and Croatia to Bosnia. Without any problems she could cross all the borders and passport controls on her way. For Raif and thousands of other people from Eastern Europe an unimaginable and unpossible journey.

 Counterfeit Money
Silvia Doebelt

There is a room, resembling a stage, and there are two hands that seem to be preparing for something: they align, sort, arrange something. A man's voice starts to talk: fragments only, parts of a whole story yet unknown. The context seems to remain hidden in the private memories of the stroyteller.
Bit by bit it is being revealed what the hands are doing and the voice is telling: the fragments are being arranged, composed and assembled. An ensemble takes shape and is being mended and braced: it's a construct and an image. It separates the storyteller from his audience as well as a tale from experience and memory from reality - while at the same time brings them all together.
While talking and recalling the protagonist keeps manipulating his material: it's the toy money - or the counterfeit money - of remembramce.
(Info: The coins in this video are the smallest parts (1 Cent) of the money that was being used in the former GDR.)

Violeta Leiva Martinez

This film was done for an exhibition to commemorate the 100 years anniversary of Volkspark, a building in Halle, which was an important centre of the worker´s movement in the Germany of the first decades of the 20th century. The film is inspired in the workers’ songs, and takes its euphoric and utopian feelings into a strange landscape where positive impulses are mixed with disturbing elements, bringing this dream into a half completed utopie.

Stefan Riebel

Since 2007 Stefan Riebel is working on a sequence of short movies. They are designed to fit into public space, in festival programs or on the internet. All of them are based on simple text animations and inform about fictional or real circumstances, demand different actions and sharpen the viewers awareness for significant details of the surrounding they are shown in. All these movies focus on the interaction of the audience and the information provided through the moving image.

The artists understands these movies as a possibility of an apparative extension to his performative work. They offer an interesting way of interaction within very short but clearly defined times apart from the artist. Currently the sequence consist of 50 movies.

POL IC Y
Vi d eoklub is the meeting-point for various groups of people to deal with video production.
These local chapters build and maintain contact by sending their videos to each other.
The local chapters stand as the author of their video productions.
E a ch local chapter is recognized by a name, as well as a recognizable segment
at the beginning of their video s.
The activities of Videoklub members are to:
RECORD, VIEWand REVIEWtheir own videos following the Videoklub policy.
RECORDINGentails:
Recordings made with a videocamera.
The beginning of the video must be set with the recognizable segment of the local chapter.
Recorded is recorded: no parts can be added or deleted afterwards.
During recording all decisions are irretractable
(that means the start, the duration and the end of the entire video and the individual scenes*).
Therefore, every video beginning necessitates its completion. No giving up, no destroying.
The video is completed when the recording processes has ended.
The time and date of the video completion must be written down.
Post-production in any form is not allowed.
The first viewing of the completed videos happens only at meetings of the local ch a p t e r.
VIEWINGentails:
At this meeting, the order of videos are first set based on the time and date of their completion.
The videos are then numbered. The number is the title.
By this act - the numbering of the videos - authorship of the individual videos is
transferred to the local chapter of the Videoklub.
E a ch video will be reviewed by the members of the local ch a p t e r.
REVIEWINGentails:
Videos become material available for concrete critique. Group authorship creates
a shared base allowing de-individualised, invested critique.
After local review, the videos are released for free use by all Vi d eoklub chapters and members.
Videoklub Membership
Membership requires entering a local Videoklub chapter or creating your own.
Each group that decides to work within the Videoklub policy is
thereby required to be in exchange with other local chapters.
Each local chapter is free to make its own decisions regarding new members.
Vi d eoklub expansion is intended.

Ambush | 2005 | from the video installation "Rose of the symbiosis"
Thorsten Tenberken

shows a video loop of the endless battle with the appliances.

Fugato | from the installation "fugato" | 2007
Thorsten Tenberken

issue in the conflict between imitation and the deviation from a motive.

 About Tenberkens Videoworks :
The overarching theme cycles Thorsten Tenberken combines different media such as objects, pictures, drawings and videos, both at a conceptual as well as theatrical waxworks. Here, the viewer is presented a world, to fight tirelessly against the characters in the rituals of daily life and self-created rules of the game without free themselves from the vicious cycle of eternal recurrence to be.

Videoworks
The video works are developed from the conflict between the productive stage-like production and documentary approach. In installations, consisting of parallel running video loops ( "Rose of the Symbiosis, etc.), and in some video films (such as the video
"Mondrian Sundays" from the video series "Five Seasons") is established an artificially created world in an everyday environment.
The breaks are part of the aesthetic principle. It is a world of contrasts: documentary techniques interspersed with choreographed staging, dynamic scenes are set against static, sculptural situations and narrative elements culminate abruptly in aimless action loops.
In the form of video loops, the characters are fighting tirelessly against an estranged everyday world, objects to run amok and against self-created rules (constraints), not free themselves from the vicious cycle of eternal recurrence to be.
